Projects, Tests & Scripts
This guide walks through the Straden web app from the dashboard down to the script editor.
Dashboard
The dashboard (/dashboard) summarises your whole workspace:
| Widget | Shows |
|---|---|
| Projects / Tests | Totals across the workspace |
| Total runs | Runs this week, with the % change against last week |
| Failed runs | Runs that crossed their thresholds in the last 7 days |
| Run activity | Bar chart of runs over the last 15 days |
| Runs by project | Top 5 projects by run count |
| Recent runs | Latest 6 runs with status and p95 |
| Recent projects | The 3 projects you opened most recently |
Use the project switcher in the header to jump between recent projects or search by name.
Projects
Create a project from Projects → Create Project with a name (up to 256 characters) and an optional description. Straden builds the URL slug from the name, adding -2, -3… for duplicates.
Renaming a project regenerates its slug, so bookmarked project URLs change.
Inside a project the sidebar gives you Overview, Create test, Tests, Runs, Connectors, Repositories, Git providers and Settings.
Project overview
- Cards: total tests, total runs, runs this week, average error rate, last execution.
- Response time trend: p95 and p99 across the last 20 runs.
- Status distribution: passed / failed / error / aborted breakdown.
- Recent executions: the latest 5 runs with duration and who triggered them.
- Filter everything by Today, This Week or This Month.
Tests
A test is one load testing goal against one endpoint. Create it with New Test:
| Field | Rules |
|---|---|
| Name | Required, up to 255 characters |
| Target endpoint | Required URL, up to 2048 characters |
| Description | Optional, up to 2000 characters |
| Connectors | Optional — pick observability connectors to give agents server-side metrics |
The Test Suites list is searchable and sortable. Opening a test shows its target, attached connectors, its scripts with their last run status, and the Test Agent chat.
Attaching connectors
Connectors are attached per test through the connector picker. You can choose any connector from the project plus system connectors. The built-in InfluxDB connector is always attached and can't be removed. Edit the test at any time to change its connectors.
Scripts
Create a script from the test page (name up to 255 characters, description up to 150), or let the Test Agent create one per scenario. A new script is a folder containing a starter script.js (1 VU for 30 seconds, a status check and sleep(1)). Update it to build requests from __ENV.TARGET_URL.
The script editor
The script page combines a file tree with a Monaco editor:
- Tabs for open files; <kbd>Ctrl</kbd>+<kbd>S</kbd> saves.
- Syntax highlighting for JavaScript/TypeScript, JSON, CSS, HTML, Markdown and more.
- New File, New Folder and Upload Files (drag and drop supported).
- Drag files and folders to move them; rename and delete from the context menu.
script.jsis the entry point and can't be renamed or deleted. Paths can't escape the script folder.
Toggle between Script and Agent mode to chat with the Script Agent, which edits files in this folder with your approval.
Running
Press Run Test to queue a run. A progress bar tracks the active run using the duration Straden reads from your options (VUs, iterations, duration or the sum of stages). The Persist logs toggle keeps k6 console logs after runs finish — it applies to the whole project.
See Runs & Insights for what happens next.
